Architecture // Confucius School

Confucius School of Thought and Literature, Kunming, China. This project was undertaken during my third and final year of the B.A.(Hons.) (Part I) undergraduate degree.

This project was a great opportunity to get to grips with a very different social and cultural background, as well as the effect that has on a built environment. On top of this, the school had to be designed based on Confucius' principles: allowing pupils of the school to 'disassociate oneself from the material world'. The design was based on self-regulating, honest and readable structures which increased the permeability and access to the site.
